Managing options for comments

In your MediaCore account there are a variety of ways to manage comments.

Built-in comments: By default, MediaCore provides an excellent commenting system that is built-in. This allows users to leave their name, email address and post a comment about any video or audio item.

Facebook comments: If you'd prefer to use FaceBook comments instead of the built-in comment engine then select this option. Users will have to login with FaceBook in order to leave comments. To enable this feature you will need to signup to get a Facebook App ID through your FaceBook account. Once you have one, you can create an App by visiting the Facebook Developers Application page.

Disable comments: If you don't want to allow users to comment choose this option. To choose your comment options, click on the cog icon on the right side of the site header bar, and select Settings.

Next, click on the "Comments" section in the left sidebar and choose the type of comments you would like to use.

If you choose "Built-in comments" there are additional options you can enable.
  • Moderation: If you would like to require that all comments are approved by an administrator before they are posted to the site (for editorial reasons) then select this option.
  • Filter profanity: To prevent users from leaving common swear words in their comments simply enter a comma-seperated list of all the swear words you would like to filter.
If you choose to use the FaceBook comments option enter your Application ID in the space provided.
