Open firewall ports/playback through firewalls

Usage of MediaCore requires ports 80, 443, and 843. We recommend ensuring that your network allows outgoing connections to these ports.

Port 80 and 443 are used for the majority of connections within MediaCore. HTTP and HTTPS are used for requesting pages, uploading, and streaming videos.

If you wish to encourage HTTPS usage, you can force users to login in to your MediaCore site via HTTPS by navigating to your admin panel > Site Settings and checking the checkbox next to "HTTPS" under the "General" settings tab.

Port 843 is used for negotiating Adobe Flash Socket Policies when a browser doesn't natively support websockets, as MediaCore will use a Flash fallback for delivering real-time updates. More information can be found here.
